The people at MyFarms are passionate about maximizing the global food supply. We build practical technology that helps input suppliers, farmers, and grain buyers work together more efficiently.  Today, MyFarms is used by thousands of farmers and dozens of companies on millions of acres from the Midwest to South Africa to maximize farming efficiency.

Farmers First

Chris Fennig and his father, Steve, developed the idea for MyFarms in 2010 after Chris spent years studying how other supply chains share data for mutual benefit. Their farming operation is a Hoosier homestead, raising corn and soybeans for four generations.

Steve began mapping yields in 1995. He was convinced that building a performance history for each field held long-term value for the family and hoped his suppliers would combine this data with their product knowledge to help him make better decisions.

After fifteen years and no solutions, Chris and the MyFarms team decided to build an electronic bridge between farmers and suppliers with the goal of making better decisions in a mutually respectful way.

Seed Reps

Seed companies invest heavily each year in product research and development. As a result, they possess specialized knowledge of how seed genetics, traits, treatments and populations are likely to interact with each field scenario. Helping these companies apply their research and combine it with the best of what farmers know about their land holds dramatic potential for improving the global food supply.

Farmers, large and small

Farmers know that technology opens doors to making better decisions. MyFarms is committed to helping farmers combine their field data with the best of what seed, chemistry, and fertilizer companies know about their products, while enabling farmers to maintain control of their field data throughout the process. This results in smarter decisions and empowers farmers to preserve their data assets for the next generation. We handle field knowledge the same way we would want our family’s farm data to be managed.

Grain Buyers

Consumers are becoming more interested in how their food is grown. As a result, grain buyers are being asked by major food processors to help farmers do more with less. MyFarms lays the groundwork to correlate grain quality attributes back to farming practices so that both parties can maximize profitability. We love seeing clients become more operationally efficient.
